Software Safety Analyses

We provide short or long term resources to conduct these software safety analyses

• Assess compliance of software requirements with the AOP-52 Generic Software Safety Design Requirements. "AOP-52 - Guidance on Software Safety Design and Assessment of Munition-related Computing Systems" section 4 provides several generic software safety design requirements.    We provide services for the safety compliance matrix mapping the compliance each software requirement to the applicable subsection of AOP-52.
• Conduct a software safety hazards assessment - Each software requirement is assessed for safety hazards.  The severity and probability of the hazards are assessed as well as the software control as per DoD MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program for weapon systems.  The result of the Software Safety Hazards Assessment is the Software Level of Rigor (LOR) to be applied to each software requirement. The system Safety Program Plan (SSPP) is updated for the software risks. We provide services for the Safety Requirements Hazards Analysis for each software requirement.
• Conduct a software failure mode effects analysis (SFMEA) with focus on safety related hazards and safety critical requirements, interfaces, and design.
• Conduct a software fault tree analysis (SFTA) with focus on safety related hazards.
